Severe itching sensation

I am taking Lisinopril-hydrochlorothiazide 10-12.5. I have been taking it for about 1 yr now. Over the last few month, when I get heated and sweat, I get a severe itching sensation over my entire body. Almost unbearable, but it subsides when I cool down. Could this be a side effect of this medication. - 1 Reply

Extreme Salty Taste in Mouth for 20 days!

I'm a 51 yr. old female who woke up on April 7, 2011, with an extremely salty taste in my mouth. When I tried to drink water to wash it out, it was like drinking salt gargle water. Nothing I eat or drink makes it go away. I can't stand to put anything in my mouth that is salty because the salt taste already in my mouth makes it almost unswallowable. Prior to that day, I have only 2 regular medications that I take daily: Lisinopril 40 mg( increased from 20 mg in mid November) for high BPas well as HCTZ 25 mg(been taking Lisinopril for 8 years) and 1mg of ropinorole(generic for Requip) for RLS (taking for almost 6 years). I also take black cohosh twice a day for hot flashes and night sweats(last menstrual cycle was Sept. 2010). On March 18, I started taking a 10 day prescription for NOHIST for a sinu - 52 Replies

for over 3 weeks have had serious issues with my lips, tongue, overall inside mouth raw, and sandpaper texture...like plastic....severly dry all day and impossible at night. Tried all OTC products no avail....seems lisinopril MUST BE THE CAUSE> any one else. - 2 Replies

My doctor placed me on lisinopril, which caused constant coughing, heart racing, anxiety, chest pain, belching and a lump-like feeling in my throat. She thought it might be an allergy reaction and so put me on losartan. The cough and chest pain were relieved, but the belching and lump-like feeling in my throat continued. Is there a common ingredient in both that might be responsible for this? Once off the losartan for a month, I was feeling 99% better, but BP started to rise again. I took half of a 25 mg tablet and within one hour the belching and throat discomfort returned. On a side note, I also have a reaction to Septa with severe nausea. - 4 Replies

White-coat hypertension-does it require BP drugs for life?

Hi, I have white coat hypertension. Has anyone on the board tried taking Lisinopril, or another ACE Inhibitor to deal with BP spikes. I have read that discontinuing it does not cause BP rebound, so it seems that it could be used for dealing with brief episodes of high BP without essential hypertension. I wanted to find out because the drug side-effects being too severe, serious and numerous make it virtually impossible to take it on a regular basis.

Lisinopril caused dizziness - could it mean heart problem?

Hi, I have been on Lisinopril 20mg for ~5 months. 10 days ago I started getting severe dizziness, causing constant balance problems as a result. My question is, whether the dizziness could be a sign of other underlying heart problems also caused by the drug.
I have had arrhythmias since the time I started on it. But recently the dizziness and, leg muscle stiffness has become very severe. Should I get a holter test done? Many thanks. - Post a Reply

I have diabetes and my doctor gave me lisinopril to take for my kidneys.
Mine says: 10MG TAB EON tablet oval pink (E 101) Gen. For ZESTRIL
I have to take one every morning. My dad takes lisinopril, too. His are for high blood pressure, he takes one every night.
His says: TAB 10MG Mf: LUP pink round tablet For PRINIVIL/ZESTRIL

I wanted to know if they are the same or is there a difference. I need these to live, and I'm running out. My insurance has been taken away because my dad wins $10,000 more than he should. Can I get these somewhere else, I don't have anywhere to go and I'm afraid... - 6 Replies

My doctor is switching me from 100mg 2x a day labaetlol to 40mg lisinopril 1x a day how do the doses differ or are they comparable? I am also using Lisinopril/HCTZ 20 mg ( for blood pressure) and Lipitor 20 mg (for Chloesterol) regularly.
