What is Lisinopril most used for?

Splitting Pills To Attain Proper Dosage
My 73 yr old husband was just put on Lisinopril 5 mg daily in addition to the half-tablet of 25 mg HCTZ he's been taking. The pharmacy gave him 10 mg Lisinopril which he is to cut in half but it is not designed to cut. When I try to cut it with the best pill cutter I could find, many of them us crush or cut unevenly. What can I do? I end up with a handful of crumbs that are not usable.

Lisinopril 5mg Long Term Effects.
i have been rtaking Lisinopril 5mg for a year. Have MS, so unsure as to whether MS is worsening or symPtoms are are due to Lisiprinol since they are all listed as side effects. i.e. increased numbness, pins amd needles and weakness in legs and feet., pain in back and hips...Also have bouts of sudden pain in hip with 'cut out' of power in leg and I fall.. Physiotherapist says not mechanical, must be neurological., no comment about Lisiprinol. RECENT EXTRA CHANGES...headache 4 weeks, some giddinessc, andt now I have faintness..almost passing put. . Checked BP after first 2 attacks...very low: 117 over 63. Told to stop Lisiprinol. Next day...another attack. .Took BP fter latebexercose to and it was 179 over 87..so .inconsistency here. Final odd symptom.... ...increase in libido.(No partner, no stimulus..yet constant arousal to the point of causing anxiety . .Is there any correlation at all? Have felt malaise ever since starting Lisiprinol. Nobody takes much notice...so it is a case of DIY. Anybody else experience these effects/?? .

Could It Be An Alergic Reaction?
I too use Lisinopril-HCTZ. I resently had a reaction but I am not sure to what. It seems to happen more in warmer weather. Both my thumbs hurt. Because I am used to pain I can ignore it accept when having to use them to open something up. Along with the pain I had localized rashes on my hands where the pain in my thumbs were. It also discolored my skin. I went to dermatologists that have know idea what it was. Now that it is cooler the rash has subsided although the discoloration is still there ever so slightly and the pain in far less. The discoloration is light with dark spots. The reason I am writing is that I have read that other people seem to have pain in their thumbs when taking this drug. Please get back to me if buzzare things like this has happened to you taking this drug. Also, I am interested in knowing if anyone has gained weight from taking this drug. Because of the way insurance companies are today, only giving the doctors x amount of time with patients I find that speaking to others that take the drug is far more beneficial. Perhaps together we can come up with more structured data then our doctors.

Allergy To Lisinopril
I have been on Lisinopril for 6 months. I told my doctor I am allergic as I broke out in a serious rash. A dermotologist gave me Bethamensone to put on rash and I broke out in a chronic rash. A new dermotologist gave me Cephelexin and Muroprocin (both ate me alive). I then was placed on Prednisone (30 pills). I feel better but notice that I still have spots of rashes here and there. I'm looking for a new HBP medicine. I was suggested Benicar. Any help?
