Drixoral Hello, I am 53 years old. I started taking prescription Antihistamine in the 3rd. grade. at firrst I took Teldron spansules. This was discontinued shortly and I've been taking Drixoral ever since. I am HIGHLY alergic to DUST and have tried other pills but nothing helps like the Drixoral. Substitute For Drixoral Are any of the meds with same formula as Drixoral available anywhere? (Desihist SA, Dexaphen SA, Dexophed, Disobrom, Disophrol, Dixaphedrine, Drexophed SR, Drixomed, Drixoral, Duomine) Is the effect of Brompheniramine Maleate the same as Dexbrompheniramine Maleate? If so perhaps, Lodrane D-24 will work. Has anyone tried it yet? I'm fighting nausea, popping ears & wheezing while waiting for my pharmacy to get some. I'm so relieved to find I am not alone in only finding relief with Drixoral. Over the years, especially recently, I have tried others, but none do the job. Anyone having success with a substitute? Drixoral Substitute I had a stockpile of Drixoral because I live in South America and it is not (nor has it ever been) available here, but it finally ran out. I have tried many things which either do not help at all or not as well as Drixoral. However, I have recently tried Claritin-D 24 which seems to help me just as much as Drixoral did. However, there is one side-effect of this product which I cannot live with: 1 pill keeps me awake for 24 hours. Now I am going to try the Clalritin-D 12 to see if it will allow me to sleep. Drixoral Available In Canada Drixoral can be obtained online through Canadian pharmacies. Drixoral Recalled Over Cgma Violations It's looking like a lack of control over good manufacturing processes is what led to the shortage of Drixoral. Schering-Plough recalls Drixoral Cold & Allergy TABLETS REASON: cGMP Deviations (by mfr Actavis) http://www.totalrecallinfo.com/freerecalls.php?id=8279 Looks like Actavis has a history of this for many years. What Happened To Drixoral I called Schering, the maufacturer. They are in the process of manufacturing Drixoral again in a different facility. The spokeswomen told me the supply on the shelves has been depleted, but it will be back the first of the year 2010. So hang on...I've been taking it for 40, yes 40 years. I sorely miss it.
