Dextrostat I had been taking the non-generic form of dextrostat for 7 years (30 mg 3 times a day) which worked fine for me. Back in May (??) my pharmacist advised me that dextrostat was no longer available but the generic dextrostat was. I tried the generic dextrostat which is supposed to be exactly the same drug as dextrostat, but it is not working for me. It might be the same in books but my body knows there is a huge difference. It's like I am not taking anything at all. I take dextrostat because I suffured a stroke which made me slow in speech, thinking and movement and I also suffer with narcolepsy. The dextrostat helps me to function normally, at least better than I would if I did not take it. Back to the problem: Generic dextrostat is NOT working and I need to know if anybody has experienced the same problem and what amphetemine type drug is comparible to the non generic dextrostat. I have done research of my own and have tried: concerta, vyvanse, desoxyn, adderall, and Ritalin to no avail. Nothing has woked like the non generic dextrostat. Weight Gain? I have gained 10 pounds since the doctor put me on this drug to improve my concentration.. He says he has never heard of this...that people generally lose weight. I haven't been eating more, in fact I have eaten less. I have had more energy and it has helped my concentration, but the weight gain is horrible!!!!????? Wednesday, 4/16/2008 4:38:48 PM  9 Replies
