![]()
Drug OverviewCo-Gesic combines two types of pain medicine to treat moderate to severe pain. The Hydrocodone (related to codeine) is in a class of drugs called narcotic analgesics (which act in the central nervous system [CNS] to relieve pain), while the Acetaminophen (a less potent pain reliever) is used to boost the effects of the Hydrocodone. It is important to know that this medication can become extremely addicting, and your doctor might recommend for you to gradually lower your dose after being on it for several weeks. It is a violation of federal law to provide/transfer Co-Gesic to anybody other than the person who it was prescribed for. This medicine is available in many different forms under numerous other brand names (including a Generic form). ...
