Bacterim Side Effects My doctor prescribed Bacterim for my suspected STD. Symptoms are a sharp pain in my penis whenever I get an erection, a white milky discharge and initially a raw irritated area along the underside of my penis. Once the underside of my penis healed, my balls developed a raw, painful area with open sores. Not good! Since the STD and Chlamydia cultures came back negative, my doctor prescribed this antibiotic to defeat whatever infection I might have picked up on my recent visit to Costa Rica. Since taking my first pill Friday at 5pm, I have developed a bad cold. My sinuses are all stuffed up, I have a bit of a headache and perhaps a fever, I feel very tired despite getting 8 hours sleep and I feel very old - my muscles feel extra sensitive. In the 2 pages of cautions I received with this prescription, I see that a severe allergic reaction includes a severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties and dizziness. It also says to avoid exposure to the sun. Unfortunately, I laid out for 40 minutes in the sun yesterday, as is my normal habit, to give my body the ability to produce lots of vitamin D. I will refrain from doing that until my week of medication is completed. I notice that side effects include stomach upset, nausea, vomiting or loss of appetite. I have experienced the first 3 with other antibiotics, but not this one. I have lost my appetite, but I don't mind..hehe Finally, it says contact your doctor immediately if you experience skin rash or blisters, unusual fatigue, persistent sore throat or fever, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine or severe stomach pain or cramping. Sulfamethoxazole/septra/bactrim Hello,I have gone to the doctore today and she wants me to start this medication,I am kinda worried from what I have been reading about this medication ,I have never taken this before,I am taking it for a sist behind my ear.Should I ask my doctor for a different medication? Bactrim Side Effects I am curious if anyone else has had any of these side effects from taking bactrim. My mouth is so swollen with blisters all inside my mouth.....now it has started to affect my private area as well with same symptoms. I cant eat and it burns all day long. Should I Even Start Taking My Bactrim? I had a severe headache on Tuesday. And the right side of my face mainly my eye and cheek area became swallon. Today I seen my dcotor and he said it could be a few things. So he told me to start taking Bactrim. After reading things here I do not know if I should. I have COPD, ASTHMA, FIBROMYALGIA.
