Amitriptyline Overview

Amitriptyline (Tryptomer, Elavil, Tryptizol, Laroxyl, Sarotex, Lentizol) is a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA). It is the most widely used TCA and has at least equal efficacy against depression as the newer class of SSRIs according to a study from early 2001.[1] As well as reducing depressive symptoms, these types of tricyclics also ease migraines, tension headaches, anxiety attacks and some schizophrenic symptoms. I am taking 25 MG at night and some time 25 MG in day I have very short tempered and I get angry very fast I am very very busy man at office have to handle variety of things simultaneously when I take the medicine I feel ok only worry that if I continue too long I will get addicted to it and will that be bad Also need to know if I take this tab regularly will it effect my sex

False Positive Drug Screens
my husband takes roxycodone pain medication, he has been seeing the Doctor for 3 months and tomorrow is his 4th visit.he takes amitriptyline/elavil for tremors,secondary to brain surgery.he has been on it for nearly 20 yrs.and it has caused massive health complications.anyway each time he goes to this new doctor for his pain medicine he has a drug screen and it is coming up positive for valium and a high dosage of it.the test shows like 10.000 parts to something I can't remember how he said it.the doctor continues to see him but he has cut him from 30's to 15's .he really needs his pain medicine we don't know what to do ,he has never taken valium zanex or clonipine. after some research it looks like the elavil could cause a false/positive.does anyone know anything about this subject?? we really need some input on this.thank you in advance for your support.

3 year old prescribed amitriptyline
My very overly active 3 year old had trouble sleeping and around September of 2011 I took him to a sleep specialist and she prescribed colodine. It worked great. But then he went to see a neurologist and the neurologist wasn't to happy he was on colodine and wants to take him off colodine slowly and fully take amitriptyline only. It's 10mg. What are some of the things I can expect? Will it help him sleep well and have less aggression during the day?

I need to know the manufacturers name of the amitriptyline tab 10mg which is made white with no outer coating of colour. I am experiencing problems with the coloured ones. My pharmacy only stocks the coloured coated ones now (cheaper I believe to produce than white ones).

amitriptyline with levothyroxine
HI, I'm taking amitriptyline for interstitial cystitis and have recently been diagnised with under active thyroid so am on Levothyroxine 50mg per night. My bladder is really playing up and I'm wondering if these tablets don't work well together? Has anyone experienced this. I don't know whether I've an infection or just need to increase my amitriptyline because its a flare up. Help please!
