Effects here are some negative effects i have found NEGATIVE increased aggressiveness paranoia dry mouth headache increased heart rate (tachycardia) increased breathing rate increased blood pressure rise in body temperature fever and sweating diarrhea or constipation blurred vision impaired speech dizziness uncontrollable movements (twitching, jerking, tremors, etc...) insomnia numbness irregular heartbeat (palpitations, arrhythmia) impotence / inability to achieve erection in men (high dose or chronic use) convulsions (high dose) dry, itchy skin (chronic use) acne, sores (chronic use) pallor (high dose or chronic use) psychotic episodes (rare except in overdoses or after chronic use) . My 12 Yr. Old On Adderall Is High Strung At Night He is on 20 mg in the morning, and by 7:00 at night his behavior is more aggressive, high strung, obnoxious, compulsive. After about 2 hours of this behavior, he usually falls asleep. He takes depakote and lamictol for bipolar disorder as well. When is mental health research going to come up with a way to diagnose and treat? Right now it takes a highly experienced doctor with a brain packed with knowledge to even begin to know what med, how much, and how to change the plan when it is not working very well. There are very few that can do this, but even finding a children psychiatrist your insurance will cover is next to impossible. What do I do. Addicition??? My son is 14 and has been taking Concerta for the past few years. Although his dose fluctuated, he was not perscribed the highest dose available. Now his doctors have changed his prescription to AdderallXR. Because the active ingredients are so similar to Meth, and knowing how very addicitive Amphedimines are, what are the chances he will be hooked unkowingly to speed and become one of the many lying, underhanded criminals associated with young men in our society ?
