I have a son that took accutane 60 mg a day for six months in a row three years ago. Now after many trips to doctors over strange medical problems, it seems accuatne is the culprit medication that has caused servere joint and muscle pain, severe dry lips, redness in face, eye infections of own immune system attacking itself, systems of osteoarthritis in both shoulders, both wrist and right hand, blood in stool, possible hair loss, abnormal liver function test results in AST and ALT. My son went from being a high school football and track athlete while taking this medication three years ago to someone that is in constant pain just washing a car. After I have researched this drug extensively, I can't believe that the FDA allows this drug originally made for cancer patients to be marketed for teenagers with acne. All one has to do is look online what vitamin A overdose does to someone and then you have the results of what this medication has done to my son. This drug needs to be taken of

Accutane & Side Affects
Okay, I've been taking 30mg of Accutane for almost a year now. I'm very pleased with the results. I used to have very oily hair and skin that led to severe acne on my face. No matter what I did, nothing helped until I started using Accutane. I am fully aware that this is a serious drug, and is the last resort for acne problems. The side affects are clearly listed on various websites and on the Accutane prescription itself. I knew the potential health risks and what I was getting myself into. Those who choose to take Accutane are usually warned by doctors and I also would think one would do serious research before taking this drug. It is very unfortunate that people are suing the drug companies that produce Accutane. I don't think it's fair for the rest of us who are getting successful results. I'm afraid that if too many people sue, then Accutane will no longer be available for retail in the US. Accutane is not the only drug with serious side affects. You do not have to take

Accutane and Infertility
I took accutane almost 14 years ago as a teenager. I am now a 32 year old woman who has just been diagnosed with infertility that they believe is linked to autoimmune issues. I truly believe that accutane is the cause of this; from the research that I have done it seems that accuntane has been linked to other thyroid-related diseases, but that they have not yet been able to prove a link between accutane and infertility. There are, however, actually more people like me out there than I originally thought. Being diagnosed with ovarian dysfunction has been a horrific, horrific blow. And while there was plenty of information about accutane and birth defects, no one ever mentioned a possibility of future infertility. I was a teenager! This is a tragedy and I believe something should be done about it. If you too have been affected diagnosed with infertility and have taken accutane, please email me. There are plenty of class action suits against accutance. If there are enough of us, we can co

Accutane miracle drug for me
I am very sorry that people have had problems with accutane but for me it was a miracle drug. I had severe acne as a teenager and still was suffering in to my late 20's. The self esteem issues that this caused were extreme. At age 27 I went on accutane and my acne was cured! My son and niece also used accutane and did not go through the bullying I went through because of acne. I am sad that this drug is off of market and no longer an option for severe acne sufferers.

Xorimax 250
My Dermatologist suggested that I take xorimax for 4 months to clear my severe acne. I have cystic acne as well as white heads and black heads. I can't take accutane as I am planning to start a family. I was just wondering that isn't that a very long dose of antibiotics. Any suggestions?

Miracle Drug
I am so very sorry for all your problems with Accutance, but I absolutely adore this drug! I took Accutane when I was 15 because I went to sleep crying every night because I could not wear the dresses, basketball, or cheerleading uniforms that I was required to wear. I am now 22 and still have wonderful skin. I would take this drug over again and I would recommend it to ANYONE. I hate that some of you had awful results with this drug, but I think it is wonderful. I did not suffer any side affects and have yet to. The drug did exactly what it said it did for me....although who knows I may be having a parrot for a baby 5 years from now :)

Accutane serious side effects for our son
Our son started taking Accutane the end of Dec, 2011. He was on it for 6 weeks. He ended up in Feb. in ER with a foot long blood clot in his groin down his leg. He had other symptoms prior to this as well. He had your normal side effects which we expected, like dry cracked lips, flushed face, more acne in first month, head itched. Then he had back pain, joint pain, (basketball player in his High school so was very active) Then he would at times feel faint when standing. He started getting really sick when his blood clot started hurting him. We didn't know what it was and went to the doc 2x for pain. This is listed as a rare serious side effect. Please be careful while taking accutane. We won't be touching it again at our house.

Side effects of Accutane
I was 16 and on accutane for cystic acne in 1985. I remember sitting in class, taking a test and a drop of blood from my nose hit my test paper. I actually had blood clots from my nose! In my early 20's i had constant neck and shoulder tension. I am starting to believe the chronic aches and pains are due to taking accutane. My mom has always thought that I suffer from arthritis.

My daughter took accutane 6 months ago and is now having problems with her vision, her eyes get really tired easily and burn, also she is feeling depressed all the time, and she is also tired all the time. Does anyone know if these symptoms will eventually go away, or is she stuck with them forever? Also any recommendations on treatment for these problems? Thanks a lot.
