Okay I will start off by saying this drug scares me because it has not been out for very long. I have Afrial Fib which is not behaving I can be 70 beats one min and regular and the next I will be at 190 and in atrial fib and flutter. this is my last chance at a med I have tried all the others I usually end up in the ER two or three times a week. I have had one ablation so far. If anyone else takes it please let me know what it is like. I am starting it on Tuesday.

I have been on Multaq over a week. So far one episode since being on this drug.My highest heart rate has been 122. Never had the ablation. What helps me is Metoprolol 25 mg. 2 x day. I am 71 yrs. old and in good physical shape (diet, exercise etc). This thing scares me a lot. Hoping Multaq will work. It is very expensive here $4.30 a pill. Any coupons??

Hi again, this is for my U.S. friends, my cardiologist offered to put me on FLEMETON, which has not been passed by Health Canada but is in use in U.S. The only way he could put me on it was to admit me to hospital for 3 days & then I could get it. I declined but I read up on it online and it sounds pretty good. I am on the list for ablation, likely in 6 months to a year. I'm not anxious for that although I've talked to some people who have been fairly thrilled with the outcome (I'm just a chicken). Good luck Lon, let us know what the outcome is re going back on Multaq.

I have been on Multaq for almost 3 weeks. I have noticed a few side effects but they seem to have gone away. At first it felt like I could not take a deep breath and I also felt like I was stuffed after just eating a normal meal. I take several medications in addition to Multaq....tenormin, diltaziam, crestor, lovastatin, metformin, glimiperide. Since I started with the Multaq I no longer feel the irregular heartbeats I was having (A-Fib). The one thing I have noticed is that now my blood sugar is near perfect every morning. I have had readings of 91 to 104. I wasn't super high before, somewhere around 130 or more. I have not changed eating habits and was never a very good diabetic, eating just about anything I wanted. This lowered blood sugar level I consider a
benefit. I see my cardiologist next week and ask him if he ever heard of this.

i have been taking multaq for 8 weeks. I have gone into afib and decided to take 500 mg of magnesium oxide . well I'm in normal sinus rythm since I started this . dosage . spoke to my doctors chief assistant and I detected they were upset. maybe because this decision effects doctors bottom line.I experience some flutter toward the end of the day so I'm thinging of taking 250 mg at around 6 pm .Have you tried this. ps most important when getting a blood test request the following an enzyme test for the multaq interaction with the liver and a magnesium test to insure proper levels of magnesium

After 12 months,Multaq completely stopped working for me. I was relieved as I do believe it will be taken off the market soon. I have just returned from 2 days in the hospital for monitoring of Flecinide - my next choice. This is just my opinion - about the Multaq - fueled by reports and news. Good luck to all.

Trapper, thanks for posting! I have followed your example and I have lowered the multaq and I am doing fine. However, I was put on an aspirn and taken off wararfin (thank heavens). They would not put me on paradxa due to bleeding issues. Even tho I was on the multaq several months, I did not go back into rhythm until the cardioversion. I have been fine since. It did take 2 months to get used the the multaq.I also started taking magnesium as was suggested on this blog. I need to up my exercise, but I cannot seem to get this old 70 year old body enthused about it. I did take my treadmill down. Now to use it everyday. I have looked at Dr. M's blog and it is very good. I have tried to cut my alcohol consumption. I love a couple of glasses of wine. When I asked the doc about it, they said don't stop. However I question that! I am very happy for you, and please keep letting us know how you are doing? Gayle

I am multaq since. 2009. It is my miracle drug. I have fibrillation. At 7am I take 1mg of Coumadin with my vitamin b complex with vitamin c .At 1:30pm I take my multaq with Korea and at 1:30am I take multiagency. The importance thing is never take Coumadin with other drugs and as far as you can of multaq and Korea. Once a week I ate salmon and twice a week dark green leaf. I check my blood every week and I am always between 2.1 to 2.9 in my Coumadin levels. Every 6 month I check my liver enzymes and they are o.k.
