How Long Before Testopel Pellets Start Working? (Page 7)

Updated

Just had Testopel pellets inserted in my backside. Forgot to ask doctor how long until they take effect. He's out of town.

Ps- don't know if its related but this second time when doc put them in he had to stitch me closed because of bleeding. I don't like feeling the stitches sticking out. Hopefully they will dissolve or fall out sooner than later.

Had my first Testopel pellet implant 6 months ago(16 pellets) T-levels started at around 200, not sure what they maxed out at, as I haven't had further blood work, but WOW, when they wear off, you know it! Very ILL mood every day and short temper! Going back for more pellets in 3 weeks, although they didn't do a whole lot in the erection department as I expected, but obviously gives me a little more energy at age 55. Yes, painful, as if hit with a sledgehammer in the hip for 2 days following implant, but to feel better, worth the pain!

My doctor has me lie on my back directly on the insertion site immediately after he is finished for at least 5 minutes. Since I started doing that I have not had any bruising and soreness has dramatically diminished. Try this after your next insertion and see how it works.

44 year old male here...about a year and a half ago started experiencing mood swings, anxiety, depression, and loss of energy & labido. I'm in the military so I thought it was PTSD. Saw a shrink at first, but then begged him to check my T levels....BINGO! I was at 130 and he started me on the gel and sent me to an Endo. I hated the gel and at first chance I got asked for the Testopel implants. I have had 1 course of 10 pellets and noticed almost an immediate difference. Pellets had a MUCH better effect than the gel. Initial pain is tolerable but well worth the result. Just had my second set implanted today at about the 4 month mark. I'm pretty disappointed though today my doc told me they are no longer available or are in shortage so not sure if we will be able to get them again or not. I can relate to the erection issues, but now that I have them back I've noticed that climax is a little different in a weird way. Luckily no issues here in that department, but I do take 1/2 a Viagra if I think I'll need a little "boost". One was too much and I was approaching the 4 hour danger zone. I'm sold on the pellets, I just hope I/we can still get them 4 months or so from now. The gel sucks and didn't do much for me. I guess I'll have to try the injections if testopel goes away.

That is strange that they cannot get the pellets because I have been unable to get the generic for the injections and have been paying 50% more. I have heard that there are some supply chain problems but I am thinking that there maybe more to it than that. Usually when things get screwed up this bad on such a large scale, the government is usually involved. :)

You should peak out at day 3 after insertion.

I had to wait a little, the last of Feb. for my 4 th round of Testopel. Back ordered they said. They are not going away, I've heard nothing to that effect. What are you levels on the 10 pellets? My intial T was like 150, I started on 10, then up to 12 now. Last longer, and beter levels. High 700 to 800

My doc doesn't implant them in my backside, but over on my hip just off the side of where he can feel my hip joint. I think that's better because I can sit down without discomfort. 3 days later now and the pain is almost gone.

James...I started off in the 130's without HRT....then low 300's on the gel. I haven't had it checked yet on the pellets. The lab work is ordered but I haven't made it in yet.

An important question ...has anyone had any issues with the pellets showing up on airport body scanners?
I travel international tomorrow night and want to avoid any unnecessary searches, explaining to TSA.
Thanks.

No, not me. Although last time I flew, pellets had been in 3 months. But I don't think you'll have a problem

That depends on the number of pellets introduced, as well as individual metabolic process along with the existing degree of androgen hormone or testosterone in your body. Your substance will quickly rise right after attachment, and may be the equivalent of per week to get steady.

I've noticed that my testicles have shrunk a bit and at times appear "deflated" or somewhat like a flat tire. Has anyone else had any experience with this? ALSO my biggest fear is prostate cancer as I am getting older and my doc told me one of the risks is that testosterone replacement therapy can accellerate cancer growth if it is present. Anyone ever heard this? Anyone had this happen to them? Most importantly what are the outward symptoms to look for?

Chris,
I have my doctor order blood work once a month. One test we do each month is for my PSA levels which need to be monitored for Prostate Cancer. If the levels start going up then you need to get checked for cancer. Mine have been at 0.7 for the last 2 years I have been on HRT with Testopel and have not moved. If the levels start to increase you must stop HRT immediately as this is like pouring gas on fire for prostate cancer.

Shrinkage is normal because you are artificially putting test into your body and which is usually the job of the testicles. They are not needed which is why they lose some of their size. The way I look at it, I use the twig and not the berries so I am not too concerned about a little shrinkage. I will take the trade off any day. As far as the prostate issue, yes, my doctor mentioned the same thing. This will not ‘cause’ prostate cancer, but if you have prostate cancer, more test will accelerate it. Just keep an eye on how your prostate is reacting. There are definite signs if your prostate is enlarging and if you have any of those symptoms, do not ignore them. As long as both you and your doctor are aware to keep an eye on your prostate you should be fine IMO.

I know weak urine stream or difficulty urinating is one of the signs.....what are some of the others? I have noticed some pain when both my bladder and bowels are full....kind of like a sharp gas pain but always in the same spot (behind my baldder). It goes away once I void the waste. I have kind of worried about it so I guess I should get screened. I've heard that everyone should get a baseline colonoscopy at 45 anyhow so I think getting a full checkup would put my mind at ease from the risks.

You should notice some result in the first 72 hours. It was a glorious day when I first started waking up in the morning with morning wood....LOL! I just started my 2nd set...you can also expect sensitive & erect nipples, testical shrinkage, improved mood, and a renewed interest in things as well as sex.

I've been using Testopel (15) for a year and a half. I get mine inserted on my right side along the IT band about 6 inches below my hip socket. I've never had a soreness problem nor more than minimal bruising and they last about 3 1/2 months. At Christmas I had a blood test 2 days before my recharge and my T level was 300. The Dr. wanted to see me the next week for a full exam so he ordered another blood test 20 minutes after he finished sewing me up. When I came in the next week he was extatic because my T level was 950 almost immediately after they were inserted. That's pretty fast!!!
