Regardless of the degree we hold, we all react to medicine differently. Just like some prefer brand over generic, it's the same active ingredient but some do better on brand and some do better on generic. If Zubsolv is doing the trick great! For those of us that feel it's not, why are we being told it's all in our head? I am taking it as prescribed, to equal the dose that I was taking with Suboxone. Should I be waking up in the middle of the night anxious, should I be yawning, eyes tearing, cold and goose bumps after 4 days on Zubsolv? I have been a nurse for 17 years, I'm an active member of NA/AA, I have a sponsor, 2 children, a job. I'm no longer looking to make myself feel high! However, when I am ready to withdraw, that's when I will. I have children to care for. This is not in my head, this is what occurred to me, an individual when I took Zubsolv. And the packaging alone is ridiculous, by the time you get to the medicine, there is a pretty good chance the pill crumbled. Then what dose can you figure out? then your missing some meds, then eventually you will run short but have a small pile of white powder to show for it. FOR ME, no thanks, inferior product. The bioavailability is not the same universally.

Do you have insurance? Is the zubsolv saving you money?

Hi, i put a question on here, but no answer yet so thought i'd ask your opinion. I just went to sub doctor for first time yesterday. I have never taken any brand before. My doctor gave me Zubsolv for induction to do at home because my insurance wouldn't cover suboxone due to me being positive for opiates (DUH). I thought since i'm going for help, the fisrt UA could be positive, or i would have to go through WD for 3+ days versus 24 hrs of hell. So he talked to me 5 minutes, asked how many pills i take a day (20 norco 10/325) and told me to take 2 of the zubsolv a day. Well, they do work great, great taste, fast dissolve time , actually they make me feel great completely normal ,no high, but can laugh for first time in years ect. Helps pretty good with pain and WD and cravings, BUT after 6 hrs my cravings become pretty intense, obsessing, and mild WD come back. However if i take one more that works great. So if i could take 1 5.7 three times a day. I am scared to call and ask if this is ok, would that be considered drug seeking behavior?? I never want to go back to the hell of my addiction, and feel great for the most part exept for what i described. From all the hours of research i have done, it appears i should be able to be comfortable with minimal cravings, which i am completely, for about 6 hours. I am brand new to this drug, and suboxone treatment. Could you please give me any advice?? I would really appreciate it. I want to be completely honest with my new doctor for once in my life, and do not want to start off on a bad note by taking 3 a day because i have to, and be scared to tell him. Thanks

I dont wanna type a huge story again, so long story short the doc said take 2 a day and come back in 2 weeks. They work awesome, but i feel like i need 3. I star having cravings pretty bad around 5 to 6 hrs after i take it. thanks

I got the rx and started it on the 28th. At first I didn't like anything but the taste about it. I prefer Suboxone strips, the strips are really great when it comes to spreading it out. I can make one strip last four days if need be. Can't do that with the pill [zubsolv not Subutex]. I'm not saying it's comfortable, speaking for myself as everyone is different, but at least I can make the strips last. Now as for price...Zubsolv is cheaper but again you'll need to buy more for the same effect ir time length. Ofcourse if you are paying for 60-90 of them then Zubsolv will get it done. In my case I purchase 30 & the insurance covers 60, Imo it's worth it to pay more for 30.

dude relax. everybody is different. just because it works for you doesn't mean it works for everyone else. its like saying I love mushrooms and I eat them everyday so if I like mushrooms then they should taste good for you too! Well guess what? Not everyone is going to like mushrooms!! Medications have different effects on others for many different reasons so stop acting like you know it all.

My doc started me out on 60 a month. 16 mg is the standard dose for sub.. But he will raise you to 90. They are so expensive. BUT ZUBSOLV ONLY. Has the, 5 mg. Correct me if I am wrong but I also hear they have a 75 dollar coupon you van use six times per script You can call the number and ask them.

yes i called him and he said i could take 3 a day but only for two weeks then i gotta go down. The 5.7 mg zubsolv is suposedly eqivalent to the 8 mg suboxone. I dont know bcuz i have never tried either of them. I have read that people who have switched mostly say they love the taste and they dissolve rapidly, but they say they feel that they are not as strong. Of course some say it's all in their head, and there is no difference. my doctor did say they would probably work better so hopefully i can only take 16 mg of sub, rather than 17.1 of zubsolv..even tho 3 zubsolv is suppose to be like 24 mg suboxone, he didnt act like i could stay on that dose long. I just want to feel like i do with 3 of these bcuz i have no cravings and no wd or side effects at all. I hope i dont have side effects to the suboxone. I do find it kinda funny tho that on the zubsolv med guide it says a person should not switch due to different bioavailabilitys may need differnt dosing. That makes no sense since they claim that the 5.7 zubsolv is equiv to 8mg suboxone. Thanks for the reply. SDo how long have or did you stay on 24 mg???? I hate to post bcuz soooo many people make me feel like if i dont listen to their recommendation to induct on no more than 4 mg than im just looking to be high. I am in fact not feeling anything when i dose, just NORMAL, which is something i have not felt in years, being able to actually laugh is nice......how are you doing ???

Tell him exactly what you said here. You want to be honest. Your drug panel result on your first visit is a freebe. You r suppose to come up positive. That's is why your there. They get kick backs from the pharmaceutical company that makes sub. Not sure if that is why he won't keep you on zubsolv. I have the most awesome doc ever. Good luck

No, you shouldn't. Can you get your doc to switch you to the strips?

yes i am switching to the strips next week, i hope this didn't affect my induction. I wonder if the strips work better than the zubsolv. Anyone have any info that have taken both???

Yes I have been taking suboxone for a while now and just last month switched to zubsolv due to ten care not wanting to pay for suboxone anymore and at first it seemed to be doing the trick for me at 2 5.7 a day but now after a month it seems not as strong and I have cravings again. When I told my doctor he said if he prescribed me 3 a day that my tenn care would only pay 2 a day and I would have to pay cash for the extra 1 a day! So I don't really now if I should stay with the 2 a day and deal with it or if I should find a doctor that will perscribe me the suboxone again! All my personal experience with both suboxone and zubsolv!

if you have been on suboxone film or tabs for awhile it takes some time to get used to. once i got adjuested to taking it. now it works better. and i feel better on it then i did while taking suboxone. GIVE IT SOME TIME. i really did not like zubsolv when i first started taking it

I take my medication daily as prescribed , never missing a dose . I have been on the Suboxone since 4/13, until recently switching to the Zupsolve . When i discussed my feelings with my M.D. he agreed there could be an adjustment period where the symptoms i stated could be quite real. All of us have a different body chemistry and may act differently to various medications.Iam now feeling better and the slight withdrawal symptoms i was feeling are no longer affecting me .So others experiencing what I did may not be crazy , just have a different reaction than you did .

I went to my doctor to get back on Suboxone. I posted a while back that Zubsolv was not for me. I am feeling much better. I had a talk with him, he believes and I agree, if you start on Suboxone then stay with it. The only success he has been seeing is when the patient is started with Zubsolv from day 1, however packaging and duration of the drugs efficacy in a 24 hr. period remains an issue. He wont switch a patient from Suboxone to Zubsolv any more. He said he could not keep up with the amount of complaints and patients coming in with vital signs that coincided with mild/moderate withdrawal when switched to Zubsolv. All of them starting within 3-4 days after stopping Suboxone and starting Zubsolv. The P.A. there said they may not use it at all anymore, they are on the fence, her complaint was that it is wearing off much sooner than it should as well. Not good when we are trying to get away from dosing multiple times a day to begin with. They did admit they thought the first few complaints were psychological, but the numbers kept growing from compliant patients in good standing. I brought the left over Zubsolv pills with me to the visit along with the crumbs and powder I put in an Rx bottle from the ones that fell apart when I had difficulty opening them. Zubsolv claims it is the bioequivalent of Suboxones active ingredients. I just can't figure out why, for many of us, it just doesn't work. If Zubsolv does work for you, but! you have to dose multiple times, I would strongly suggest changing to Suboxone. Save your crumbs and give back the unused ones, so there cant be any suspicion regarding your intent. I know "some" docs barely hear a word we say, and or doubt us, due to the nature of the drug and situation. For those doing well on it, that's good news, then please disregard this post.

As many said here, including myself..... if Zubsolv works for you that's great. I am reading that some only found it worked after a substantial dose increase. If for arguments sake, you were doing well on 8mg of Suboxone once a day, but now find you're taking 5/7mg of Zubsolv two or for some three times a day to achieve the therapeutic level that Suboxone had been providing, you have upped your dose drastically. "If" 5/7mg of Zubsolv equals 8 of Suboxone you've gone up 8 or 16mg. That's quite a bit for this type of drug. Why go past the ceiling, why increase your dose, and if you weren't dosing more than once daily, why start now? If finances are an issue, than I understand, if not, I think we want to be going forward not backwards.

To whomever posted (5) above citing the company and study for zubsolv. Does a study on TWENTY-EIGHT people sound sufficient to anyone?? This is a money game with the pharmaceutical companies and drug manufacturers and I for one, do not appreciate being the guinea pig for their profit. I have sent my insurance company my complaint and my doctor knows how to work the system to keep me on suboxone. Thank goodness for my nurse. No one here, even if it is currently working for you, should be happy with taking a poorly researched new drug that is forced upon you by companies looking to turn a profit.
And on a personal little tangent, who gives a f what flavor it is?? Really??it's a drug that saves your life...get over it.

Hey, this is in response to "Jesse James" you kindly asked for a response. I did not see a kind one, unless I missed it. I know your post is a little old now, but just in case you still check the forum, I wanted to respond.

No, you can not take methadone or any other opiates while on Zubsolv or Subxone. You take it to block the receptors and quell the cravings. It is taken for the same reason one would take methadone therapeutically, as treatment for opioid addiction. It sounds like you need to get to a good doctor and get some solid direction. If your messing with methadone and H, a suboxone dose can be difficult to figure out after methadone. If you are still messing with H as well, you need to get help. I wish you well, surrender and God Bless.
