White Watson 10mg 325 #853 (Page 14)

Updated

I just recieved a new prescription of norco 853 10/325. The last script was yellow and the new ones are white. The pharmacist said that Watson changed the color but the pill is the same, does anyone know if this is accurate?

because thanks to this wonderful government im about to be homeless that is why i CANT or i WOULD cuz someone needs to pay for this. the fda?? r u kidding? they are the ones in on this most likely thats why no recalls were made even though theyve got thousands of complaints

Where are all these other complaints? I really would like to read them to know what others are also experiencing. People, please list the side effects you all are having! I don't understand what is going on and what they have done to our medication.

are you having side-effects that is the question

why do u care about the side effects? obviously the fda doesnt care cuz there has yet to be any recall..the MAIN ISSUE IS THEY DO NOT WORK! there is not 10mg of hydrocodone in them not even close.

I care about the side effects and what others are experiencing because I AM experiencing bad side effects and I would like to know if others are also so we can compile these. So come on everyone, speak up.

I'd suggest starting at the beginning of the thread to see what people who've posted here experienced. There's a lot of informative posts - just ignore the stuff that appears as trolling.

Julie no one wants your made up advice pretending to be a Dr. Wish you would leave when you said you would.

I have been taking the narcos for awhile. Almost 4 years now. When I first got the new Watsons I posted about it on another thread. They are very ineffective and don't compare to the old yellow ones. I have tried the cvs generic yellow v but felt that one to be not much better than the white Watson.

I am going to look for the amneal now since I get new refill soon.

I agree with Chris. For all reading this, ignore Julie. She will do no good for this community and only brings negativity. Those of you who are experiencing the common side-effects listed in this thread, or the reduced pain control, please call the FDA
and Watson. There are enough reports that giving up seems like a poor option. Nothing important in this world is ever accomplished with a quiet voice. It's up to us to yell in a constructive way.

Maybe writing a letter of concern and having everyone print it out and sign it would be a good start. If they suddenly have hundreds of letters showing up with the complaint, maybe it will get their attention in a different way.
I hope everyone here gets relief soon. Being in chronic pain means making it through each day without sharing our negativity with others is nothing less than heroic.
Again - Ignore the trolls and people who have no business being here. Pretend their posts are covered when reading. It brings nothing good to read them.
Sincerely, R

Generic meds have to have the same active ingredient as the brand. But, if you have a 10 mg tablet, the amount can vary from 8 mgs-12mgs in generics. And additional ingredients can be different and are often of lower quality. Those differences can affect the amount of drug that could potentially be absorbed into the bloodstream.

OMG It sounds as if it is YOU who is of no use to this community. Why ignore me???? I was ON Norco, yellow Watson for years. I happen to be off of them now, but my hubby is still on. I suggested the yellow Qualitest because I heard some good info, so I passed It along. I am not a Doctor! I am studying for my Mater's in Psychology and we all realize the problems with the new Norco. There are problems for many, none for some. As for the FDA , ANY educated person here, and I am guessing you all are, know it will take years and years before anything will be done. THAT was my point. I wish you all the best, but it is a known statistics, feeding off of each other's misery will not help your cognitive state. I don't take offense to any of you. I feel sorry for those of you who don't want to hear the truth. And also, there may not be EXACTLY 10mg hydrocodone in the new Norco. FDA guidelines specifically state that all generics are given a 20% margin of error. So there could be more, there could be bless. I admit when I first came to tis site it was for research and the horror of prescribed pain meds and those who have become addicted. It seems I am here for the right reason and will offer any info I get. You on the other hand need to start acting like the lady we all know you are. Please don't start a needless argument, as no one wins. Time to go and enjoy my awesome hubby and dogs!! Take care all and I will see what info I can find out from out pharmacist. Blessings!! Julie ps: and there is nothing wrong with venting, but please remember one thing, the internet is full of horror stories....meant to freak us out. Peace.

Here's a little info I dug up. Again, I am not a doctor and an certainly no expert on Norco, just trying to help. Everyone just chill, I have read some to these comments and want to just crack up. Who is anyone to tell anyone to ignore someone! OMG! Well, most of you seem awesome. Please read below. Take care. Julie

The same or 20% different?

Generic medicines need to be tested to ascertain their equivalence before being approved for sale as substitutes.Generic medicines are legally allowed to have a 20% margin of error below or 25% difference above the original drug. This accounts for differences such as the rate at which the medicine is absorbed in the gastrointestinal system or the concentration in which it is distributed to various body organs. These differences arise because the inactive ingredients in the medicine influence its affect on the body..

THIS PARGARAHPH BELOW SAYS IT ALL!!!!

"Individuals who are reliant on medications for which the generic alternatives may have questionable equivalence (but currently acceptable according to regulatory guidelines), may need to be careful when switching medications. For some conditions it may be important for the patient to continue to use the same brand of medication to avoid these equivalency issues," said Prof Emery.

Now that sucks for many, as Yellow Watson are no longer available. I spend over 25 hours a week studying, yet sill want to be a part of something bigger, and this is something bigger and WRONG!! ((HUGS))) jULIE

HI Chris: None of my advise is "made up:. Now, any info I find out about Norco, I will share as my husband is on it and I do worry for him as well.

I saw my neurologist last week and explained the problem with Watson changing Norco. He told me that he has had other patients complain about the changes and they too are experiencing similar side effects that I had after taking the white Watson Norco. He believes the problem may be contributed to the fact that the manufacturer moved production out of the states. He also made mention of the 20% more or less with the active ingredients. He said that the medication is being broken down and absorbed quicker (hence the "high" feeling and it is also clearing my system faster (hence the achy withdraw feelings). I also shared with him that I was able to take half a pill (of the yellow) and get relief, but it doesn't work with the white version. He encouraged me to challenge the pharmacist who think I am a pill addict. Nice having a doctor who can sympathize with chronic pain. I currently have the qualitest. They aren't as effective as the old yellow watson, but miles from the new white Watson.

I've been following this discussion and I just wanted to add in the side effects I have been experiencing with the new white Norco's. They do seem to build up in your system, as someone else mentioned. I didn't start getting these effects until about my fourth and fifth pill within two days. They make me feel very feverish, almost a cold sweat feeling. They make me feel really out of it. Kind of like a zombie. They give me really bad stomach cramps and diarrhea. I have tried to ask others on a different forum if they are having any effects, and I get the argument of "all generics are the same, it's all in your head". This response is rude and it's just not true. These are not the same, though, and it's not in our heads, no matter what everyone will tell us.

How I wish I read all this before I filled my script yesterday! I got the white Norco's at Walgreens and I woke up this morning feeling sickish and in pain. That's when I found this site. I haven't read all the posts yet, but I do plan to call Walgreens and complain, as well as call or write Watson...or whoever bought them out. And I downloaded the FDA med watch form and will send it in. It may not do any good, but I feel like we all have to try. Luckily for me, I have some old Qualitest left. I hadn't used them as much because the yellow Norco's were so much better. The Qulaitest is good to take at night because it makes me sleepy. But I don't want to be this sleepy during the day. And that was the good thing about the yellow Norco brand...it seemed to actually give you energy while taking away your pain. It sure makes you wonder what different ingredients were in those pills that are obviously not in the new white ones. And it's more than just hydrocodone...it has to be a big difference in the fillers too. Very discouraging, frustrating....and maddening!

Hi and glad you found some old Qualitest Norco. Activus bought out Watson and due to FDA approval, seems it will take a long time, if ever, for anything to be done. The FDA stance is there are other generics if an individual is unhappy with the old Watson as it still meets approval. But by all means don't only take my opinion, check for yourself. I wish you best of luck.......God bless. Julie

I forgot to mention in my side effects listed below the extreme FATIGUE that these cause. I can't believe I forgot to list such a horrible side effect... They absolutely make me feel like I am getting the flu. My body aches and i'm so tired. I know it's them, also, because it happened when I first started taking them a month ago, then I stopped them for a week and only took tylenol and got better, then started again a few days ago and I am feeling the same way again. Does anyone know what might be in them that would cause this? My heart goes out to fellow sufferers.

Hi there. Chances are the filler and binders they are using in these crap Norco are causing these effects IMO. I am so sorry u r going thru this.

It has been a few months now since the change from the yellow to the white norco's
I had endured one month of those white norco's and it was more then I can stand, then on to Qualitest, which still had some unpleasant side effects, ( too many fillers and binders IMO)

Well I have been taking Amneal for a while now, and they are working, not quite as strong as the old yellow norco but still effective and just as important however no unpleasant side effects

Try Amneal! Given the situation I think it is a worthwhile alternative

And to activis/ watson you all can go to hell! Greedy SOB's, hope you go bankrupt
