I'm afraid your doctor may not have properly advised you how to take the medication. Viibryd is highly activating, which means most people should take it in the morning, rather than at night as it can interfere with sleep. It is also recommended you take Viibryd with food. It not only helps the body metabolize the medicine better, but shields against the upset stomach.

Now it's been almost a month. The. Suggestion about peanut butter on toast has been working well. I try to take this at the same time inbetween bites. I feel nausious but nothing in comparaison to the depression and anxiety. My dr said there will probably come a time when it will stop working and I will have to increase. I don't want to increase with all stuff I read. But I will follow my dr's instructions.
SO, ANYONE JUST STSRTING VIIBRYD, EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT. SO FAR NOTHING THAT I FEEL IS AS BAD AS HOW I FEEL WITHOUT IT.

I have been taking viibryd for about 6 weeks going up very slowly...at first I felt really good but now I have bouts of feeling kind of depressed and overwhelmed. I don't know really what to think of it since I felt really good at first. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...rpmm

I have been on viibryd for about three weeks. I'm on 40mg now and mentally I feel much better. I was taking cymbalta 60mg for 2 years and noticed it effectiveness was not working for me. I asked my doctor about Viibryd and he gave me a trial pack. It's been a rough ride so far, between feeling spaced out, body aches the loose bowels, now I've been experiencing badder soreness and lower back pain. I'm wondering if anyone else felt these symptoms.

Panicked, you need to read the entire discussion thread for your question to be answered. Asking a basic question like that without reading first only makes the discussion thread go in circles. It is in your best interest to read slowly and understand what others are saying.

After nearly 4 months 40mg, my only side effects is loose bowels which is controlled with immodium, on occasion there is an occasion brain shock and I think that is if I have waited too long between dosages. I tend to have a lot of energy including after working long hours and need to take a sleep aid to fall asleep.I must say it works for me so far but it is expensive, these side affects mentioned above still occur and it was rough adapting to the medication to 40mg, I do not like the brain shocks which I understand happen with other anti-deppressive medications as well. I am convinced that if I decide to stop this medication suddenly the side affects will be ugly, it is very strong medication. I intended on having full blood panel labs taken in January to make sure this medication is not damaging any organs.

Question??? Anyone know of how to obtain a official VIIBRYD DISCOUNT CARD, not the thousands that are advertised on the internet but the one you receive with the trial packs? It is a green/white plastic card. Is anyone williing to give one away and what is expiration?

Viibryd is not covered by my lousy insurance and is running close to $180 a month. Very expensive

Your healthcare or primary care providers office should be able to give you the discount card. Or ask the pharmacy. You might also look up the maker of Viibryd and see if they are willing to ship you a card. Best of luck. And I would definitely get that blood work done on this medication.

I've been on viibryd for almost three weeks now, five days on 40mg. Most of the side effects have been tolerable. Last night I had a headache so I decided to take an Alieve. About two hours later I expienced some major brain zaps ( never had them before) scared the crap out of me. It felt like I had some sort of seizure. I believe it had something to do with the Alieve I took. Has anyone else experienced anything like that?

I haven't experienced anything like that but I haven't started the 40 mg because I'm so sensitive to medications. I might be a good idea to ask your doctor or pharmacist. I hope someone can help you out that may have had a similiar experience.

I am on day 3 of the starter pack, (10mg right now). I am also on Suboxone for opiate-drug dependency. Everything everyone has to say has absolutely terrified me!!! This is drastically different form another website I was on, where there was nothing but positive comments. I cant remember what site it was, as i've checked so many. My stomach is cramping pretty severely at the moment...but way down low and to the left side. I have had diarhhea - not horribly bad - almost welcomed because the Suboxone makes you poop rocks (when you're lucky enough TO poop). I have had a little nausea, no joint pain, no sleep problems - although i did get a RX for Ambien just in case. I don't really have a question, just thought I would share my experience thus far. I think im giong to continue on this med, and see where it goes. I have tried many many many other anti-depressants, which have coincided (coincidence maybe, no one really knows) with a miscarraige (Paxil ), and a tubal pregnancy (Celexa & Suboxone). Anyone have any good experiences? I saw a few...but a little inspiration maybe? Thanks!

Going on my 5th month on Viibryd 40mg once a day taken before bed. I feel there is a violent road of side effects that as time goes by they become less but do not totally go away. I take immodium to control diarrhea and ambien to sleep. I occassionally get a brain zap which is like an electrical feeling in the brain which may or may not have color if your eyes are closed. Does not hurt but can be scarry in the begining.

I am feeling very normal emotionally since I started Viibryd and have said that the price is very high dollar wise but it is important for me to pay for this medication at it is meeting the monthly rent payment.

I can't believe after five months you still have issues like that. I'm sticking out the first month with all the crazy side effects with the hope they will subside. I do feel better mentally but it's taking its toll. I know if they do continue I will have to try something else. For me it's not worth it. You shouldn't have to go through months on Imodium and sleep medication. That just plain crazy. That's my personal view on things.

When I went up to 30 on viibryd I started getting more angry and agitated(grant it it was during the x-mas season) but after going down to 20 and added 15 mg of Deplin I am feeling much better. I will see how this goes and if I start feeling like I did before I think I will try something different. I didn't think the Deplin was doing anything but got off of it for awhile..month or so and just got back on and already notice a difference. Good luck everyone on your journey

Viibryd should NEVER be taken before bed. That is the reason for night terrors and difficulty sleeping well. Take it with your noon meal. This is information I received from a psychiatrist who was very familiar with the medicine. My problems went away after stopping it at bedtime and taking it with a noon meal. However now that I am completely off of Viibryd, going on my eighth week off, I still have muscle and joint paint that is unbearable some days. Also a constant use of immodium or sleep aid is not healthy. Research this med and when to take it properly. It is a vicious drug if not taken correctly. Good luck.

I feel as if its loosing battle. Aside from the bizarre side effects, I always feel like I'm on the verge of comming down with something. Sleep helps but its just temporary. I'm afraid to take anything other than tylenol for my constant headaches because of the crazy reaction I had with Alieve. I'm feeling depressed because I feel so sick all the time. How ironic is that, I took this med so I could stop the depression. Now I almost back to where I started from. Not a good place to be.

I,ve been on 40mg Viibryd about 2 months now. I worked through the GI effects and they went away. I do notice I sweat at night, but not every night. Also, my ears have been ringing. I don't see that as a side effect though. Anyone else notice that.

Ringing in ears for me may go along with what are known as brain zaps and as time goes by they happen only once in a while such as over stressed or over tired. Someone said never take Viibryd at night. This is false information as not everyone has night terrors. People keep in mind that because one or ten people have certain side effects it does not mean everyone has the same. This is the type of medication that you have to use your own judgement and adjust dosing, times and anything else associated to you and the medication to make it work best for you. Yes, even a psychiatrist cannot make this call. Do not generalize. I do believe this is powerful medication and not for many. I lately have lots of leg pain and right now cannot figure out if it is because of the medication or a lot of work and holidays. Anything something changes with you it should be question. I can say that my depression is at least 90% improved but there are times that it does break through and I have to mentally control my feelings. I am still experimenting with this medication with time as it goes along. The huge decrease in depression is well worth it to me but I cannot help wondering how long this will last.

Not at people experience night terrors but this medication comes with specific instructions that tell you not to take at bed time. It should be taken with a larger meal for better effects. It helps to ease any side effects. Yes every med is different for every person, but this is not a general response when you should caution this medication. It is not been out that long and there are far too many people having severe side effects. Not all, but for the majority. With any med, always take precautions.

Ok now I've been on viibryd for a few months. I have been taking this med with peanut butter as suggested. During the holiday season I have not been punctual, varying 2-3 hrs late. I am not sure if this is again causing that horrible diaherra. I am going through 3 sets of clothes.
I am afraid to apply for a job. I felt like i have to stay in my house. To go to a movie I took 3 immodiums and drank liquid immodium, then carried extra clothes.
I need to find a parttime job. This staying home is unhealthy.
Does anyonr else have chronic diaherra with this? I've had for 2wks +. What should i do?

I am pretty sure i read that the viibryd patent will not be up until 2015. So far i've had samples. I am having bowel problems enough I cannot leave my house. How much and when do you take the antidiaherra med?
