I completely agree. I will finish my starter pack next week and today was by far the worst. I thought it was going to come out of both ends. I do not feel any relief from the anxiety and even had tremors a couple of times.

PAINFULLJAW....I'm not saying its not the viibryd but I have been taking Viibryd for several months and Adderall for over 12 yrs and just so you know jaw tension, teeth grinding is totally a side effect from Adderall!!! Its much worse in the beginning and does get some better but even as long as I've taken it I still grind my teeth without knowing I'm doing it. Invest in a mouthguard now and save your teeth. I have spent thousands on dental repairs!

Use this drug with EXTREME caution. My first week on 10 mg. I felt so much better and thought that I had found a miracle drug. I was having some bad side effects but hoped that they would go away like I have experienced on other anti-depressants. I stuck it out for six weeks until I had a out of control, out of nowhere burst of anger and agitation. I decided enough was enough. I was experiencing insomnia, vivid dreams, upset stomach, loose stools, headache, muscle pain, agitation, anger, tingling, joint pain, weight gain, and severe tiredness. My doctor said that the side effects should have lessened or gone away by then. Now comes the hard part that the doctors never warn you about. Viibryd can cause flu-like symptoms for 5-7 days every time that you decrease your dose or wean off of the medication, no matter how slow and careful you are. I got this information from a reliable source--my pharmacists. I have been trying to wean off of Viibryd this week and it has been a hellish week. I am too sick to function normally and so depressed that I have considered hospitalization to help me during the weaning off period. In my opinion, this drug is not being prescribed or monitored as carefully as it should be. It may be a wonder drug for some, but for me it has been the scariest drug that I have ever taken in my life.

After just over a month I have weaned off Viibryd. I experienced terrible joint pain -- especially hips - absolutly debilitating. Difficulty sleeping with disturbing dreams, 40 mg dose was like an "out of body" sensation like I was watching myself from afar... so after just a couple of days cut back to the 20 mg and tried for a month but was having trouble gong up and down stairs. Not worth all this ... horrible med.

My doctor says he is certain Viibryd is not the cause of the problems I'm having with my hips, but I believe fully that he's wrong. Glad I read your post - I am now off of Viibrd entirely and am wondering how long my hips will be a problem. I'm talking a MAJOR, near debilitating problem!

You need to get off of this drug, but PLEASE do it under a doctor's supervision! Even though I'm no longer taking Viibryd I am still experiencing dizziness, fatigue, pain, depression and sadness. I go back to see the doctor next week, but he is not convinced everything I've gone through - including a 25 lb. weight gain - is due to the Viibryd. I am completely convinced!

I have been on Viibryd a month now. 10mg for a week, 20mg for a week and two weeks now of the 40mg. I was on Zoloft before this but did not feel it was working. So I took both meds at the same time, weanin myself off to Zoloft while getting use to the Viibryd. I noticed a little anxiety with 20mg and a lot more of it with the 40mg. I take 1mg Xanax for anxiety and feel like it does not touch my anxiety at times. I have had many symptoms which include: elevated blood pressure, anxiety, heart racing, diarrhea, vomiting, dizziness and blurred vision and horrible life like dreams. I have never experienced anything like this before. First time I felt like was going to die--all these lights around and I'd try to move and couldn't. My eyelids were heavy. It was like I was going u see anesthesia and had no control. I felt I was talking and screaming for help and the words wouldn't come out. My husband said I slept all night. My arms are all tingly wen I wake up and I'm still tired. I have had face swelling and redness on my cheeks and arms. Almost sunburn like. Last night it started again-(first time was two nights ago). I was able to sit up and make it to the bathroom to vomit. My heart was racing and I was dizzy. I ended up falling and cutting my arm. What a long night. I was afraid to go to sleep because its torture and scary!! I called my dr this morning who prescribed it and she said to stop it immediately. After reading all these posts before calling her, I asked If cold turkey was safe. She then said maybe just take 20 mg for 3-4 days and then 10 mg for 3-4 days since I have only been on it a month. I'm terrified of this drug and don't want to take even one more pill but I'm terrified of more pro lens so I believe I better go the weaning route and just pray it works. If u are prescribed this drug, I would strongly reconsider. These are not fun trips it takes you on-they are horrible!!! It takes your breath away and you feel you are close to death. I hope everyone who takes it and is getting off it is doing better. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy-really! Those of you that weaned from 40-20-10mg...how was your weaning process? Did the side effects go away fast?

I also forgot to mention the pain in my joints. Some days are debilitating!! My hips hurt and I can't sit on one side for too long.

Wow - you certainly have had a very tough go with this nasty drug! The weaning process itself wasn't bad, but I feel like a warmed-over cow patty now that I'm off completely. Dizzy spells, shaking, lack of ambition and energy, anxiety, irritability, tension and depression. Today at least the pain in my hips has lessened; my fingers are crossed!

Same thing here! My doctor says however he doesn't think it's actually my joints - more likely inflamed ligaments and tendons causing muscle pain.

This drug Is just awful. I did okay on my first night of weaning back to the 20mg but I am afraid of the long term effects. This will be the next drug on tv you see recalled. And I hope it's soon. Serotonin poisoning is serious and I hate I ever got on this drug. Good luck to all

Have been off Viibryd for 2+weeks and still having dizziness, feeling wobbly and "brain zaps" ... wondering when this hell will end? Any way to get it out of my system faster?

When my dr switched me to celexa he had me take both for two days then just stop viibryd. I honestly have not had any withdrawal or problems getting off of the med.

It took less than a week for my hips to feel better. At about 10 days I realized that my sprained ankle that had never healed and was thinking of seeing a podiatrist about was feeling fine.

It took me a week to wean off from 40 mg. I've been completely off for six days. Each day gets a little better, but I still feel horrible. It has been really hard to get my therapist and doctor to believe that my body is going through withdrawal. I finally got the doctor to give me some medicine for the nausea. She said it will take 4 weeks for the drug to be completely out of my system. Give me strength. My husband is tired of having a helpless wife and my kids can't understand how a medicine could make me sick. This drug is worse than being depressed! I would believe this if it wasn't happening to me.

Agree the drug is worse than depression! The withdrawl is real ... I am drinking lots of water and taking brisk walks -- hoping this will help get all the Viibryd out of my system...

I have been on Viibryd for 6 weeks. One month starter pack 10,20,40mg and now 40mg daily. I feel great since I started Viibryd. Now about a week ago I get what someone on this forum called "BRAIN ZAPS" almost as if I were a electronic that is short circuiting. I take the pill after my sleeping pills are practically putting me to sleep to avoid that feeling, it does not hurt but when I feel the "Brain Zaps" I hear a light buzzing sound and get flashes of red and/or blue lights. Anyone have the same side effects? I feel it has help me but is it causing damage at the same time?

I just found this thread. Back to the "Brain Zaps, I found 5 post that mention them but without any detail. I know that they begin 5-10 after taking Viibryd so I take the pill right before passing out Excedrein PM and a Ambian. I take lomitil to control diarrhea another side effect. I feel that right now it is the brain zaps that makes me worry about the drug as it is not mentioned in any literature by the company that makes Viibryd. I have not experienced nightmares or joint pain as others have described, but will continue to post should somthing change.
