i started sprintec on the first day of my period. how long do i have to take it before i can start having unprotected sex?

If you start oral birth control tablets on the first day of your menstrual cycle, they are effective immediately, because they will prevent your next period of ovulation.

However, if you start them at any other time in your cycle, you will have to use another form of protection for the first 7 days.

Please keep in mind that oral contraceptives do not prevent STDS, such as HIV, or herpes.

My doctor told me to start taking Sprintec BC on the first day of my period and I'm now spotting and I wanted to know how long will I spot? Will I bleed the whole time on the pill because that's not what I want. If so should I stop now. I started my period 3 days ago. Started the pill after???? Please help. He whole purpose of the pill was because of bad cramps and to stop my period.

I am trying to conceive but i have irregular period.My doc prescribed sprintec to regulate my period after taking medroxyprogetereone.Is it possible for me to get pregnant if i have unprotected sex in between the dosage period of sprintec?

I have been on Sprintec for almost two years. My period usually comes when I am half way though the white pills. this month however, I started two weeks early. It wasn't a constant normal period flow and would stop and then start again. I took a pregnancy test then and it was negative but now it is two weeks later, the time when my period is usually here, should i take another test? Is it possible im pregnant? Should I take the white pills even though i've already had a "period" if thats what it was? I'm so confused someone please help!
