White Oblong Pill A 333 Not Working (Page 3)

Updated

Hi I just started taking this A333 white oblong pill. (Generic Percocet. 10/325). I never had this type before and got it due to pharmacy supply. My question is has anyone noticed a difference in pain relief from other brands. Maybe it's me but it doesn't seem to work as well. Can't wait to hear some other input on this. Thanks.

Kirby, I hope that you have cld your dr and the pharmacy regarding this reaction you are having to the A333 pill. Also Please Please Please report this reaction to Actavis complaint line, the more we all rally together & report our side effects with this Cheap Generic so called med, the more likelihood they will do some investigating. Also please submit a report to the FDA, this can be done online, mail or by phone. I have recently found out that by reporting to FDA directly, they will indeed start an investigation on this med. I hope you get some relief soon.

I am so sorry to everyone having these issues. When I found out they didn't have watson anymore I didn't even want to try Actavis because I researched it first. I was told Watson brand is discontinued now. They won't be making them anymore. But some people I know just got watson from walgreens so they must of had some leftover. It is all so confusing. I take the 10/325 and I am using the mallinckrodt brand now. Has anyone tried Rite aid? I know CVS and Walgreens have actavis.

Bart, You are very smart to research the Actavis A333 first before receiving it! I wish I hadn't as I had terrible side effects from it. As far as the REAL Watson 932 pill still being produced & distributed seems to be mystery. I know around my area, there seems to be just the Actavis at CVS, Walgreens, & some local grocery store pharmacies & little local pharmacies. It is confusing as I have heard the 932's will no longer be distributed, the Actavis A333 is the substitute, which is NO Substitute! I have taken the Mallinckrodt & Amneal brands with out any side effects at all & best of all they Work! I would take those Brands anyday over the Actavis. Also Walgreens around here tells everyone they have the Watson brand, but infact they have the Actavis A333, not the 932's! From what CVS told me, the A333 is much cheaper for them so they are supplied with that, CVS, Walgreens, local grocery stores have same supplier around here. I hope this A333 med gets taken off market personally, it needs to be. I do hope the Mallinckrodt are working for you.

I called Actavis and they said watson percocet has been discontinued. They will not be making them anymore. They will have other brands of Watson but not Percocet. Has anyone tried Qualitest brand?

Bart, I am now taking Amneal Brand and have no problems. But I heard its very possible every pharmacy in this area may start receiving Actavis and if that is the case, I am going to my PM dr and getting a whole different treatment plan. I just read an article that Implies Actavis has put this A333 pill out on a trial basis to be tested on US, without our Knowledge. Look for Actavis makes agreement for generic abuse-deterrent oxycodone, You are all going to be SICK with what this says.

Sunni what pharmacy do you use? I did hear about the abuse deterrent oxycodone but I didn't think that was percocet? I thought that was just oxycodone and so people who abuse it can't try to manipulate it or something because it won't work. I am on 10/325 but I want to lower my dose. The 7.5/325 isn't very popular so most places have weird brands. Watson still makes hydrocodone (vicodin) and for months now I been thinking about going back on that. To many issues trying to get percocet and a brand that works. I was on lortab before percocet and I hated percocet when I first switched. I didn't like the way it made me feel but once I got watson I was ok. I am confused on what to do. I don't want to get different brands every time I get a refill. I'm going to call my insurance and see if they pay for name brand today.

Hi. I just replied and it said it needed review. I did hear that about actavis but I thought that was just the plain oxycodone and so people can't abuse it. I could be wrong. Plus it isn't FDA approved yet. I was on lortab before percocet and I liked that better. Watson still makes vicodin but I am going to call my insurance today and see if they pay for brand name percocet and I see my doctor Monday. I don't like the idea of getting new brands every month. Rite aid told me they do not carry actavis so I hope it stays that way!

Sunni, Hi..sorry this is short but need to ask you....which brand did you like the best? The Amneal or the Mallinckrodt? ALL major pharmices here (my part of NC), now are only using Actavis! Walmart has Mallinckrodt, BUT...for my Xanax, they use Actavist...and my script is coming due next week....why are they doing this to us? All this stress I'm now under trying to find a pharmacy that does not sell Actavist in ANY of the meds I take....feel like I'm going to throw up....oh and CVS + Walgreens said it doesn't matter if a Dr. writes on my script that I cannot take Actavist, they cannot do anything about it..."think" cause it's a narcotic, not sure as I've been calling pharmacies and am so upset, I can't remember what they said! - Lisa...the rite aid here only sells Actavist, wish they sold Mylan, I've heard only good things about them... I told CVS that Actavist is not even FDA approved, they disagreed with me and I told them I went to their website...wherever...and copied and pasted the whole article and emailed it to myself and could email it to them....they said, "that's okay".... I hope someone, that uses their words better then me, can start a Petition or something to get Actavis removed, I'll back them 100%!!! I don't have the strength to keep doing this and if I bother my PM Dr. to much I'm scared he'll 'release' me, then what? Oh well...so much for this being short Sunni..hopefully someone can give me some suggestions....ideas? Well I need to go as I plain don't feel good...all this worry and stress is making feel sick and depressed....good luck to all....take care~

Sorry, my mistake, not Amneal....it's "Alvogen".....anyone heard of this brand? As long as it works and nothing like Actavis, that's fine....thanks for any help!

I have been following this thread for several days now. I have been on the Watson's for a year or so due to a connective tissue disease that causes extreme pain for most of the day (worse at night). ANYWAYS, I got the A333's this month and didn't think twice. Took them, and they worked. Then I was curious because I hadn't seen that imprint before. AFTER reading all of this, yes, I got a queezy stomach and some anxiety - but that's completely psychological. I honestly believe the people that had adverse reactions, but the difference in inactive ingredients is ONE drug. The chemical make-up is the same. Activas is not putting this out as an abuse-deterrent. They are doing that for OxyContin - not what we are all taking. I've been on pills for all sorts of things my entire life. Never once did I think twice about it being generic or not. I really believe if you get it into your head that a generic won't work, then it won't. The A333's felt a little different at first, but after a week or so it's back to normal. I feel for the people that got very sick - I hope it turns out well for you and that maybe there might be another reason you got sick (other meds mixed with this, etc.). More than anything, I think it's harmful to assume that everyone will have a bad reaction. If I had read this BEFORE taking my new script, I would've been scared and in pain. It's very psychological. Please be aware that you are among the very few that are having problems. Once again, it sucks what happened and I'm not saying it's not important. It's just hard to for people to make an informed decision with all of these acusations flying around.

Hi Ann, first off..Actavis made me sick to the point where I googled it to get info. on it and during finding different things Before going here, I did end up finding this place, and am also strong enough, mentally, that no one can change my way of thinking. I'm sure there's lots of people that can take Actavist, just as there's those of us that can't. A lot of the syptoms [sp] that people have here, I don't, but since you've been following this thread, I'm sure you already know this. (not trying to be rude at all). I've been taking genetric Watsons everyday since 2004 and have no complaints about generics whatsoever. Where I do not know if you are also taking other types of medications, you didn't say, or what kind, that right there could be why you are one of the lucky ones. I take several different types of medications and that could be the reason Actavist affects me different then it does you. Now where you said, "Activas is not putting this out as an abuse-deterrent." I'm sorry but that is incorrect! Look up 'Generic News' and you'll see this, "Actavis makes agreement for generic abuse-deterrent oxycodone", it also states, "FDA announced on 16 April 2013 that it would NOT grant approval to any oxycodone generics that rely on the approval of the original ‘non-abuse-deterrent’ formulation of OxyContin"... I'll stop there as I'm not sure I can even post that even though I found the link to it on here, in a topic concerning, 'Watson is now actavis generic percocet 5-325 what is up with this'...look for that post, read through it, when you find the link, click on it and read what it says about Actavis. Oh and one last thing, these "acusations" you speak of "flying around"? Every word I've typed on here, on every comment, is the truth. Again, not saying any of this to be rude, in fact, thanks for your thoughts.

**To the people that will review this, if you Edit this and remove what I've quoted, can you please leave the....title of the post on here so Ann (& others), can check out the comments there? It could be of some help to them. Thanks so much!**

I understand what you're saying completely. I've had bad reactions to meds of course. I'm just frustrated because I don't think anyone is reading THAT article correctly. That specific article (and many others I found) are specific to Oxycontin. The Watson's - those are Percocet. The pill we are talking about on this forum is not Oxycontin. Yes I do believe Activas is up to something, but that article is irrelevant unless I'm on the wrong forum. I just want everyone to be correctly informed. Maybe I missed something. I read it about 100 times.

Ann...going to see is will go through.....it might and then get pulled later.I truly hope not.... Actavis makes agreement for generic abuse-deterrent oxycodone is the title...read the 2nd paragraph then the rest, I know what you're saying about oxycontin but keep reading..copy and paste the link if it isn't highlighted.

I just sent you a message Ann but it needs to be reviewed first, probably cause I put the link to what is on "Generic News" (where you can sign up for their newsletter).....did you find the other topic about the 5-325 per.s I posted? The link is there, I saw it, clicked on it and read what it said...copied/pasted, emailed it to myself... in my reply where I typed, "Look up 'Generic News' and you'll see this," if you read all of what I said...and then went to look for the topic I mentioned again above on the 5-325....and read all the replies, I don't see how you missed that link. I found it last night (Thurs. night), if nothing else, google, 'Generic News' and you should find it. The title along says it itself...Actavis makes agreement for generic abuse-deterrent oxycodone" and the article is not on a forum, it is on 'Generic News'.... hope you find it...wish this place would let us talk to the people on here. Sure hope you find that generic news, it's more of a company, for sure not a forum.

Ann, in speaking to several pharmacists, probably 5, 4 had no complaints at all, and one said people complain they don't work, but that no one complained of side effects. These were all walgreens pharmacists I called. I live in a very over populated area, so if people are complaining about side effects in my area, the pharmacists are not aware. I asked because I read this first and was scared to try it when he told me they had a new brand. However, I have had severe allergic reactions to generics and I can totally relate to everyone who is having reactions. It is not pleasant and I think more people need to let the pharmacist know because they will lose customers over this. Since I am one who is very sensitive, I rather not take the chance. Also, if it is in fact weaker, then people are going to have some withdrawal symptoms. These generics all vary. So an adjustment period will be needed.

Regarding that article, I do believe that is not FDA approved at this time, and they are not referring to percocet, they are referring to just oxy, that is being abused. I read that way before I even found this forum. They are trying to find a way to make it so people can't abuse it. Watson is still making many medications, just not generic percocet anymore. They still make vicodin as of now.

Watson is still making many medications, just not generic percocet. They are still making vicodin the pharmacist said. When I called actavis, they said the watson is making meds, just not generic percocet anymore. That article on the internet isn't even approved yet and the one I read was not about percocet.
