Is penicillin v a effective treatment for walking pneumonia? ## Penicillin is a broad spectrum antibiotic that can be used to treat many types of infections. If your doctor prescribed it, then obviously they think it is the right antibiotic for you. Please follow their usage and dosage instructions.

oblong 105 printed ## Sorry, since this is a foreign medication it is not regulated like those in the US and the only thing I have been able to find is that it is listed as an antibiotic. I would suggest asking your doctor or pharmacist for more information. ## I was prescribed Calvepen for a tonsillitis infection while abroad in Ireland. It had the word penicillin was in it's longer medical name located on the bottle. It was given for two weeks, two pills, 3 times a day.

My mother has some Penicillin VK left from a previous dental infection in 2005, Is it safe for her to use now? ## It is too old to be effective. As pills age, the active ingredients start to break down and as time passes, you will get less and less of an effective dosage. Taking them now, also raises the risk of developing drug-resistan bacteria. So all around, it is not a good idea and she will be better off getting a new prescription.
