Norco Vs Hydromorphone False Positive

I am prescribed Norco 10/325 for a back injury. My doctor gave me a urine test which is degrading enough on it's own, and the test came back positive for a high level of hydromorphone (dilauded). I have never taken anything except for the Norco so why did the test come back as a false positive? I have never been accused of lying before and it was not a good feeling! I have no reason to lie and I want to prove the doctor wrong! Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Norco contains hydrocodone, which metabolizes into hydromorphone. This is not a false positive. You really do have hydromorphone in your system. But this is an expected result of taking Norco. Your physician should be aware of this and not penalize you.

I am going thru the same thing right now.mi take Norco 10/325 after car accident 8 years ago. It came back in my urine positive for both hydrocodone and hydromorphone. In the 8 years this has never happened and a high value. I take 4 pills a daily..what should my number value be.,cause it has me red flagged as being off the charts high and I only take what I'm allowed. The same for Xanax. I take .5 to 1 milligram daily and that too came back with a very high value. Can anyone explain why. Please...thank you

Hi, I am going through the exact same thing. My Dr. did a drug test on me and wants to know where I am getting dilaudid, because hydromorphine showed up positive. I have NEVER taken or even seen dilaudid in my life. I am only on norco prescribed by her. Did you ever find out what happened in your case?

Did you ever figure out why you tested positive for dilaudid? I'm going to the exact same thing right now at my doctor and I was put on probation. I don't want to get kicked out of the of the doctor's office. PLEASE HELP. I don't know how to convince her that I have not EVER taken hydromorphone!!! Help Please
