What is this pill? White oblong with 93 on both sides? Thanks. ## Hi Sara, The closest match that shows up under the U.S. drug databases contains the marking "93 | 93" on one side and "852" on the other side. This is also a white oval/oblong pill that otherwise fits you description. Could you have possibly missed the imprint on the back of the pill you are referring to? This pill I located is identified as being Metronidazole (500 mg); which is a nitroimidazole antibiotic medication used particularly for anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. My dentist perscribed Amox Clav 875 mg every 12 hrs and Metronidazole 500mg every 8 hrs for infection. I am having chills, nausia, and feel dizzy. Is this to much antibiodic for one individual? I am alergic to ALL mician groups; would this have an effect with these two pills? ## Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid, are the active ingredients in Augmentin, both it and the Metronidazole are antibiotics. As to the chills, nausea and dizziness, those are not allergic reactions, but they can be normal side effects of these medications. You may also experience diarrhea. If they are too severe and bothersome, you should contact your dentist. Are t...

My doctor prescribed that I take 1 tablet 3 times a day (the 400mg tablets) for my viral infection that I have had for the past 2.5 weeks. He gave me the prescription on Friday am, but I am only starting to take the tablets today (Monday). I see there is also an option to take 5 tablets in 1 dosage for 3 days, and was wondering if this is a better option for me since I am already starting the tablets late... I can't get hold of him to ask.
