Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 57)

Updated

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you

Hi, thanks for your information on Rottlaw. Unfortunately, I've been in touch with them twice over the past two or three months and have had absolutely no reply from them. Even a courtesy email would have been something!
Have you had any luck with them yourself? I'd be very interested in following up this avenue.
Thanks again,
Mel

To BBMom:
I understand completely what you are going through. I am also a RN who is also a Nursing Instructor. I've been off LYRICA for several years but the mental blocks are still with me. I am soo embarrassed at times not being able to think of everyday words while lecturing to my nursing students. Yesterday I couldn't think of the word "splint" to save my life. I am soo angry at the way my life has been altered by taking LYRICA. While taking LYRICA gaining 60 lbs over just 6 months, (from a size 8 to a size 18), going into CHF and being admitted to the Heart Failure Unit was one thing, but this neuro deficit of not being able to think of simple, everyday words, completely forgetting what I'm saying, and having my reading comprehension go from being able to speed read with almost total recall to not being able to read 3 sentences without having to go back and re-read them just to figure out what I just read is infuriating. I know it's from LYRICA since I am also a Clinical Research Scientist, retired, from the country's largest pharmaceutical company. I collect data. It's second nature to me. And I know when my neuro deficits started. I just can't figure out why there hasn't been an attorney who will take our case.

Lyrica works by destroying either the neurons or nerves
I am am ex LPN and a RRT. If lyrica is destroying all the neurons or nerves what is it doing to out brains which are composed of nerves and neurons.

Hi Mary ,What you said about Lyrica destroying nerves is really frightening , i am very grieved about what this FDA sanctioned poison has done to my son who will obviously never recover ....

BBmom4 thanks for your comments , my son has not had a dose of lyrica for nearly 4 years and and still has not recovered from side effects, he is only 21 years of age ,was initially on it for close to 6 months at doses up to 75mg x 4 per day , Lyrica has ruined his life , the FDA must be a very corrupt or incompetent organisation to allow this very toxic and dangerous drug on the market ,it effectively gives its takers a chemical Lobotomy , we are all devastated and disgusted by what has happened and would welcome the opportunity of legal action against the manufacturers of lyrica ...

I took lyrica for three months and had ok teeth before but after I needed to have all my teeth pulled and had full dentures. I also experienced massive weight gain and suicidal actions. I'm looking for a lawyer in new York to help file a law suit. I've been afraid to see another Dr so i suffer greatly with my Fibromyalgia on a daily basis.

Kelly, please let all of us know if you find an attorney. I've been looking for over two months and can't find anyone! We are all in the same boat. It's so sad, it makes me sick just to think of what has happened to all of us. I heard that there is a time limit to file a lawsuit. We can't wait too long. I can't believe that no one is out there to help us. It is just CRIMINAL !!

I guess that leaves me out of any settlement, even if we do find a lawyer. I have been off lyrica for about 8 years now;however, I am willing to testify about the drug lyrica, even of the statutes of limitations has probably run out for me. I know that I will never get my memory back like it was, I will just have to work harder and write eeverything down until th day I die because I keep forrggeting to turn the stove off. : - (
Ood luck to you all. I hope that a lawyer is found swoon.

I have been looking for over a year and no attorney in the US will take Pfizer on over this drug. Pfizer even lied about the number of adverse effects in their clinical trials and the fda fined them over it.

beth albert, i think we all need to be a lot more vocal about this highly toxic and dangerous drug ,called Lyrica , tell every one , any opportunity is fair game , talk back radio , internet forums , friends , relatives .....tell Pfizer and the FDA we are on to them .... ...

I agree! I took both Lyrica & had to be taken off for various side effects (thank God I have a great PCC & I'm a nurse.). I was then put on Cymbalta. Even worse but it took several months before I realized it. I'm on both band wagons! This must be stopped & people need education, help in many ways & the drugs off the market! This forum is a great tool; however, how do we come together as we are all in different parts of the country/world!??

Started takin' Lyrica last week and by Fri the whole right side of my face felt like someone stepped on my face. My teeth are killin me. I have an appt w my lovely dentist tomorrow morning to see if I have cavities or what. I know it is from the Lyrica. I am a diabetic for 38 yrs, have 2 herniated disks in my neck, osteo in my hip, neuropathy in legs and hands. Could go on and on, but yeah. My neoro doc gave me free samples 2 yrs ago of Lyrica and I took it for like 8 months. I wound up in the hospital w severe chest pain, water around my heart and doctors did not know why. I developed gall stones and my gall bladder was removed too. Anyways, I bet these two things were side effects from the sample Lyrica I was given. I recently got back on it last week and now my teeth are messed up. Really? In Aug Im getting a few nerves fried in my neck to see if that helps w the neck pain. just dont know how I am gonna sleep now w the neuropathy, oh shooooooooo. I typed in Lyrica and teeth problems and got this site and another good one w some of the same people from here. I know I am not the only one w the teeth problems now. I am not going to take any more of the Lyrica now that is fo sho!

Lots of tooth problems which is what prompted me to research it originally.

Its very unfortunate that something which may help others has caused so many to develop more issues than which they started with! It appears that the bad outweighs the good. As a consequence, the fact still remains that these meds must be taken off of the market & quickly; people also need compensation for increased pain & suffering and for what they have had to pay out due to extreme side effects. Dental issues are extremely costly, as we all know, not to mention the fact that our insurance carriers would like to be compensated as well! Now, many of us will "exist" the rest of our days with issues caused by these meds because it certainly isn't considered "living" in MY book. It is therapeutic for many of us to verbalize our experiences and frustrations via this forum; however, we need assistance/direction from SOMEONE, group, etc. if there is to be any resolution whatsoever and direction for those who are even contemplating utilizing these meds. The docs may mean well (First, do no harm,) but do need to educate themselves about ANY med they prescribe as well as the patient. Had I been the least bit informed, I never would have taken the Lyrica or Cymbalta. When you are suffering so badly, the last thing you think of is researching something on the web. My two-cents worth. . .

Sometimes I forget how to turn my car on or how to drive. I have found myself driving around a parking lot just to find the store. I have to write a grocery list even if it is only for2-3 items and then write down where I have want to go while I'm out and about.

What a blessing running across this board! To find out I'm not alone in the world after all.....I took lyrica 13 months ago, 3 weeks later my legs began to swell and here we are today, legs STILL SWOLLEN! My doc didn't seem to have a care in the world so I "FIRED" her and got a new one! Within 3 weeks my swelling went down some but have found out I have HEART FAILURE.....uggg that's only there beginning! Very blurred vision shaking memory loss. I'm feeling all of you guys pain and suffering. Now my question is WHY IS THIS DRUG STILL ON THE MARKET? Our lives are ruined FOREVER

Sorry to hear that Margie. I'm scheduled to go to the leg vein clinic soon. I now have spider veins and varicose veins. My teeth are crooked and I am scheduled to see an orthodontist for braces. I'm 63 yrs old. Go to this site:

fda.gov/iceci/criminalinvestigations/ucm269241.htm

It's the Food and Drug Administration Office of Criminal Investigations. I had depression because of this drug. I had cataracts, lenses put in, now blurry vision that moves around in both eyes. I stopped taking Lyrica one and a half years ago. Can't see clear. Was on Lyrica for 3 yrs. 50 mg 2 x day. My life is messed up also from this drug. Pfizer was to pay $2.3 Billion to the FDA, largest lawsuit in history.
