All my life I've been a healty guy. My annual check up revealed an enlargerd prostate, high blood pressure, high colestral, and my sugar level was elevated. Flomax for the prostate, Quinapril and Atenolol for the blood pressure, Glipzide and Metformin for the elevated sugar. Now I've had an exam every year and all is well then all of a sudden at age 56 I have these issues. There are side effects to the meds. Dizziness, nausa, diareahea, stomach cramps and thousands of crickets ringing in my ears. How can I go from being healty to now on the flip side? How do I know what meds causes what. Shazam.

It is normal for ones body to change as they age, even though sometimes, it is for the worse.
The age at which some people start having problems varies. Lifestyle and genetics both play a factor, as well.
As to which med is causing which side effect, it can be hard to narrow it down when you are on several at once.
Your best bet is to speak to your doctor, they will know which ones carry the highest chance of causing your bothersome issues and will be able to help you.

I recently found out that I am a diabetic. I've been put on Glipizide, Glucophage, Actos and I take meds for high blood pressure. This last week I feel nauseated, severe diarrhea and just over all yucky. I'm wondering if I'm on too many meds.

i am on glipzide twice a day and i also take lantus insulin at bedtime now my doctor wants me to take metformin 500mg once a day and stop one of the glipzide pills me and my husband feel this is not a good idea because we read up on metformin and we dont like the idea of getting something that can be fatal please somebody write me back and tell me what they think and what they would do thank you very much

Yes, My husband and i both are having the same systems from the two meds.Don't know what the doctors will do about it.Let you know what they have to say when we see them soon.

I am taking all the same medicines. Maybe a little different dosages but the same. I have trouble sleeping but yet all I want to do is sleep. Sick tummy, dizzy, sweats, short tempered, depressed, feels like my insides are racing. I hate the way I feel. Going to call my doctor and see what I can do. I didn't want to go on shots but if I would feel better than now, I will!!

I was plagued with diarrhea for years. Then my Dr. took me off metformin and put me on Glimepiride and wonder of wonders my diarrhea is gone. Its been 3 months now also my sugar is better than it has ever been. I take 2 mg.
