Could A White Pill With No Imprint Be Hydrocodone ? (Top voted first)

Updated

Have a white oblong pill with no imprint and am trying to see if it is Hydrocodone. It looks like it, but no imprint.

Hello, Sam! How are you?

No, all prescription medications in the U.S. are required by law to have unique imprints on them to enable their identification, in case of emergency. For example, if someone would overdose, the paramedics may come in and find them unconscious surrounded by pills and they need to be able to discover what they took, in order to provide the best treatment.

Thus, if it has no markings, it is most likely just an over the counter product, of some type, though there is a small chance that it could be a foreign pill.

The FDA classifies Hydrocodone as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
