The doctor is lying to you. Benadryl doesn't help panic attacks, and even in the 80's when that was done it was done out of ignorant desperation. Fire that doctor, report that they 'promote' abusing antihistamines for panic disorders over quality medications like alprazolam, lorazepam, clonazepam, etc.... and make sure you grade him several times so that his 4 stars go down to 1. You need to take aim at this doctor and make sure they are penalized at least by you in a legal manner if not by their sick lack of a conscience. My suggestion is if the alprazolam worked, stick to a small amount. Don't listen to some of these doctors.

Actually my bottle just says take 1 tablet 4 times a day for itchiness doesn't say how far apart to take them or anything so I could see taking 1 then taking another an hour or 2 later if he/she is still itchy. As long as the 4 pills are taken in one day he/she may have thought that's how it's done.

After coming off high doses of kpin and shaking for a month and a half straight my doctor finally gave me trazadone. It didn't seem to help at first. Finding the right dose, and taking it for anxiety during the day and sleep at night has helped tremendously!! This is one med that I would recommend for anybody!! Coming off benzos is extremely hard and this pill has helped so much. I also combined it with clonidine for anxiety and high bp. The two together ate great!!

Neurontin or gabapentin does not help with detox or withdrawal. I have been an addict for a long time. Clonidine patches work the best! Almost no symptoms of detox with the patch. Also, combining it with zofran for helps. It takes away the nausea. I think the only people that truly understand are the people that have been an addict before.cteading a book to tell you what helps doesn't make a difference. You can't possibly understand detox unless you have been through it, same for being an addict.

When I was a child I would notice how my drinks would taste different I found out that my mother was drugging me with vistrals ever since I was 8 she would throw about 3 adult capsules in my drink before she would go out with her boyfriend and now I have kidney problems is there anything I can do

To shesadevil, I so wish I had the same mind frame as you. I also have unpaid bills and had to sell my car and my anxiety is so rough. The doc. would only give me virstaril and it doesn't help.. My mom is on methadones also for 10+ years and they help back pain also. I just wish I could think like you and not worry... #I love what you posted :)

I agree! I was addicted to pain pills for over 10yrs, and a friend of mine use to be addicted to pain pills as well and I she started taking gabapentins and lyricals to help withdrawls so I started taking them as well and now i rather have lyricals and gabapentins!!! Their awesom!! i wish I had sum now

Tell your doc you need Benzos, not antihistamines. basically he is giving you some benedryl and telling you it will help anxiety attack! I suffer from them only two things help alcahol or benzos for immediatley making your body reduce the panic response!!

I too was taken off Xanax and given Visteral. It didn't help at all! The withdrawal is the most awful thing I've ever experienced! It lasted months! And nothing helped me. I feel for you!!
