This tablet, however, does contain 800mgs of Sulfamethoxazole and 160mgs of Trimethoprim, a generic for the antibiotic Bactrim. My doctor prescribed Bacterim for my suspected STD. Symptoms are a sharp pain in my penis whenever I get an erection, a white milky discharge and initially a raw irritated area along the underside of my penis. Once the underside of my penis healed, my balls developed a raw, painful area with open sores. Not good! Since the STD and Chlamydia cultures came back negative, my doctor prescribed this antibiotic to defeat whatever infection I might have picked up on my recent visit to Costa Rica. Since taking my first pill Friday at 5pm, I have developed a bad cold. While it is nice to find an online forum to share stories and post questions it is crucial to note that if you have any questions CALL YOUR DOCTOR. They are trained medical professionals. While all drugs have possible side effects, this drug was prescribed to you because the benefits outweigh the risks. ## In addition, if you experience any side effects let the prescribing doctor know as soon as possible...that's just common sense

My daughter was around 5 years old when she was given Bactrim & developed SJS. She also was hospitalized for 3 days, but with prayer & love she recovered. She's now in her 30's & has 4 kids of her own. ## she has a side affect from sulfer, but we didn't know till it was givin

White ip 272 ## This is generic sulfa 800mg, and trimeth 160mg., generic for Bactrim DS. It is an antibiotic used for many infections, most commonly bladder infectsion, sinus infections. Side effects include stomach upset, diarrhea, headache.

This is an antibiotic in the sulfa class of antibiotics used to treat urinary tract infections, kidney infects, and many other types of infections like protein in the urine. It can cause anaphylactic shock if you are seriously allergic to it like I am, cause shortness of breath, hives and/or rash.
