I've been experiencing muscle pain while taking Atorvastatin / Lisinopril, and have to take Co-Codamol just to be able to move and do simple jobs. I don't want to take statins at all, but I do take coQ10 60mg. Please advise. ## It is most likely due to the Atorvastatin, it is well known to cause joint/muscle aches in some people that take it, according to NIH reports. How long have you been taking it? It may also cause nausea, dizziness, and headache. Have you informed your medical provider of this issue? You may need to try a different medication. ## My advice is to cease taking this drug after you inform your doctor. Statins attack our muscles, and that includes our heart, which is our No. 1 muscle. That is a major reason why cardiac failure rates have zoomed since the introdu...

My mother is taking Atorvastatin but she keeps going to the bathroom a lot. So, we were wondering if this is a water pill? ## No, this is a statin medication that is used to help lower cholesterol. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and joint/muscle ache. However, frequent urination is a possible side effect of most medications, one can never know how any given medication will affect anyone that takes it. How often is she going? For 6 months I visited my doctor who did angioplasty for me. On the 6th month my doctor prescribed me DEPLATT-CV (one capsule a day). On both of my legs below the ankle swelling occurs. Is it because of this capsule administered to me? It contains Atorvastatin which was discontinued by my doctor earlier due to the same problem (now experienced in legs) in my palm and fingers. In my case, I feel that the Atorvastatin component in DEPLATT-CV is the reason behind it. Has anyone else been met with such a problem before? Please reply. ## Deplatt-CV contains Aspirin, Atorvastatin and Clopidogrel, it is used to prevent clotting, thin the blood and reduce cholesterol. And yes, the Atorvastatin could cause the edema/fluid retention that you are experiencing. One thing you can do, on your own, to...

My Atorvastatin from the same pharmacy (Walmart) had GRE on the label one time and LEG on the same medicine the next time. What does GRE and LEG mean? Are they different? ## No, it is the same medication, those are just abbreviations for the manufacturers, since this is a generic. For example, the GRE usually stands for Greenstone, which is the name of a pharmaceutical manufacturer. The FDA lists the typical side effects for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and joint/muscle aches. Is there anything else I can help with?
