Asomex 5 Side Effects On Sexual Action

Iam a male 52 yrs old, I got an angna pain in 2010 Feb. I have been using asomex 5 along with lisinopril 10 to treat HBP since Jan this year yet Iam facing erection dysfunction, premature ejaculation and nausea. Is it because of these medications and what is the remedy?

Asomex contains the active ingredient Amlodipine and both it and the Lisinopril can cause the side effects you are experiencing.

Have you consulted your doctor? You may need a dosage adjustment or to switch to different medications that won't cause these types of problems.

If I had to take a wild guess, I'd place the blame of the Asomex, because the Amlodipine has been known to cause these problems far more often than the Lisinopril does.

Pauline, yes, it can cause those types of issues.

Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant and almost all of them are known to cause sexual dysfunction and lack of libido.

Have either of you talked to your doctor about it? There are other medications you can try, or your doctor may want to use a slightly lower dosage.
