Some women swear by remedies such as Cranberry juice, however, some of them can also be just as dangerous as prescription drugs.

Have you talked to your doctor about other possible solutions?

Firstly one has to have a full urinary tract evaluation by a urologist to determine that there are no anatomical reasons for abnormal kidney or bladder problems that are causing the frequent UTIs urinary tract infections. Cranberry juice, taking cranberry supplements, or bearberry (uva ursi) herb may be helpful in some patients, along with plenty of water. Some people get an E. coli bug from their pet which could lead to a urinary tract infection. See http://www.raysahelian.com/urinarytractinfection.html for additional research studies on natural ways to treat UTIs.

I am assuming (?) that you are female. I have had problems with interstitial cystitis since I was 12 years old.
Are you having actual infections or symptoms (i.e., burning, urgency, etc.)?
I have been treated with DMSO injected into my bladder by my urologist. DMSO is a solvent used in horse liniment and it is the ONLY FDA approved treatment for interstitial cystitis and/or some stubborn UTI's.
I used to date a physician who had become schooled in natural medicine and he gave me Tri-Salts (Reagent Grade Bicarbonates) to neutralize increased acidity in the body and it really helped me.

Use D-mannose!!!! It has changed my life. I used to get UTI's very frequently. Now I have been UTI free for almost a year.

First you should determine why you are getting repeated UTIs. I developed a disenergic bladder and need to self catheterize a few times a day. Addition to my vitamin and mineral regimen, I take two cranberry juice concentrate caps twice a day and 4 drops of oil of oregano, which is supposed to have antibacterial and antiviral properties, in a shot glass of a flavored liquid twice per day. Seems to help if you don't mind your urine smelling like an Italian restaurant.
