Hydrochlorothiazide Tuesday, 5/6/2008 1:23:43 PM in Hydrochlorothiazide, HCTZ I have antiphospolipid syndrome (APS) I was given HCTZ for blood pressure and after two weeks my body went hatwire. This resulted in severe resperatory distress, intubated for 3 days had heart attack was kept alive w/ macinery & drugs. Later realized this triggered catastrophic antiphospolipid syndrome. After researching found that this is a known trigger- to late for me. Two years later I still don't have all the feeling back in my legs and have lung and kidney damage. 1 Reply

Minty Novospiroton Tuesday, 3/11/2008 3:02:08 PM in Spironolactone I have been taking this drug 25mg X2 daily for over 5 years. Latest refill has more than usual mint smell and causes stomach gas and belching (wreaking and tasting of mint) along with heartburn ten minutes after ingesting. After this reaction upon taking this drug on this recent refill, I reverted to taking 2 days worth of previous refill (filled one month ago). No stomach upset or reaction. After this 2-day reprieve, I began taking once again the new refill. Again stomach belching, upset and gassy heartburn returned. Upon query by me to my pharmacist, I was told there was no apparent difference in either the supplier (drug company) or appearance, therefore, he then dispensed spirotonlactone through a different drug company.
